Description:
The Principal Software Engineer will join the Huntress Core Platform team, which powers the entire Huntress product suite.
Responsibilities include end-to-end feature delivery, designing, developing, and releasing software features for the Core Platform.
The role involves creating the technical vision for new features from the platform roadmap.
The engineer will collaborate with a diverse team to solve problems and improve industry standards and user experiences.
Key responsibilities include owning delivery and product quality, leading technical decisions, defining long-term strategic goals, and communicating the technical vision.
The engineer will work closely with the engineering manager, product manager, and architect on strategic initiatives and technical designs.
The role requires developing best practices, engaging with customers, and improving test frameworks.
The engineer will mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative environment.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 10+ years of experience developing complex software products.
A minimum of 8+ years of programming experience in Ruby on Rails is required.
A BS in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience is necessary.
Experience in an Agile or Scrum environment is essential.
Proficiency in JavaScript and CSS, as well as experience with external APIs, is required.
Candidates should have experience working on Linux-based infrastructure and with databases such as Postgres.
A deep understanding of ActiveRecord (Rails) is necessary.
Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills are required.
Candidates must possess effective communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment is essential.
Candidates should be able to distill complex technical topics for a non-technical audience.
Strong interpersonal relationship-building skills with various stakeholders are necessary.
