Description:
The Principal Software Engineer will work with and provide direction to teams of developers that build services fundamental to the Swiftly platform, including loyalty, coupons, eCommerce, product catalog, and search.
This role involves architecting, coding, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems with complex requirements.
The engineer will utilize expertise with microservices architecture and database design.
Responsibilities include operating production services, including on-call and incident management.
The engineer will contribute to a multi-tenant platform architecture.
The position requires working collaboratively in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
The engineer will take ownership of their domain from the ground up, from architectural decisions to coding, testing, and operations.
Other related duties may be assigned as needed.
Requirements:
A B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or comparable industry experience is required.
Candidates must have 10+ years of industry experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale software services, ideally in a multi-tenant environment.
Confidence in writing code in Kotlin, Java, C#, or other statically typed modern languages is essential.
Expertise with modern development patterns and technologies, including Kubernetes, Redis, and microservices frameworks such as Quarkus, is required.
Experience building and running services on Azure and/or AWS is necessary.
Preferred qualifications include experience with retail-oriented solutions and SaaS, as well as a mix of startup and large software company experience.
Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $215,000 - $230,000 a year, based on the candidate's experience as it relates to the role.
