Remote Principal Software Engineer

Description:

• As a Principal Software Engineer at Seeq, you will be responsible for shaping the technical direction and architecture of the software platform.
• You will lead the design and development of complex software systems, collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers.
• Mentoring and coaching junior engineers to help them grow their skills will be a key part of your role.
• You will drive innovation, spearhead the implementation of new technologies, and ensure the delivery of high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.
• Your responsibilities will include advocating for unit testing, continuous integration, and elegant solutions, as well as addressing bugs and technical debt promptly.
• Collaborating through pair programming, providing actionable feedback on code, and actively engaging with customers to understand their needs will be essential.
• You will work with a tech stack that includes JVM languages or Python for backend, databases, distributed computing, and cloud platforms, as well as Typescript + React for the front end.
• Seeking continuous improvement, you will contribute to team acceleration, mentor colleagues, and maintain open communication for growth opportunities.
• Occasional travel may be required for face-to-face interactions with colleagues.

Requirements:

• Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Have at least 8 years of professional experience in software development, with a strong record of designing and building complex software systems.
• Possess expertise in programming languages like Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of software design principles, patterns, and best practices.
• Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with great attention to detail.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Proven leadership skills to guide and mentor junior engineers.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Experience with data analytics or industrial process data is a plus.
