Description:
As a Principal Software Engineer at Seeq, you will be responsible for shaping the technical direction and architecture of the software platform.
You will lead the design and development of complex software systems, collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers.
Mentoring and coaching junior engineers to help them grow their skills will be a key part of your role.
You will drive innovation, spearhead the implementation of new technologies, and ensure the delivery of high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.
Your responsibilities will include advocating for unit testing, continuous integration, and elegant solutions, as well as addressing bugs and technical debt promptly.
Collaborating through pair programming, providing actionable feedback on code, and actively engaging with customers to understand their needs will be essential.
You will work with a tech stack that includes JVM languages or Python for backend, databases, distributed computing, and cloud platforms, as well as Typescript + React for the front end.
Seeking continuous improvement, you will contribute to team acceleration, mentor colleagues, and maintain open communication for growth opportunities.
Occasional travel may be required for face-to-face interactions with colleagues.
Requirements:
Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
Have at least 8 years of professional experience in software development, with a strong record of designing and building complex software systems.
Possess expertise in programming languages like Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of software design principles, patterns, and best practices.
Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with great attention to detail.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools such as Scrum or Kanban.
Proven leadership skills to guide and mentor junior engineers.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Experience with data analytics or industrial process data is a plus.
