Remote Principal Software Engineer - Front End

Description:

• Nabis is the #1 Licensed Cannabis Wholesale Platform in the world, supplying hundreds of brands to retailers across California, New York, and Nevada.
• The Principal Software Engineer, Front End will lead the architecting and building of front-end systems for Nabis’ responsive web applications.
• This role is crucial for delivering high-quality user experiences and involves collaboration with the Product Design team to set and enforce design and front-end standards.
• Responsibilities include leading the architecture and development of front-end applications, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, scalability, and maintainability.
• The engineer will design, develop, and maintain robust front-end applications using modern frameworks and technologies such as React and Next.js.
• The role requires optimizing front-end code for performance and scalability, establishing development standards, and mentoring other engineers.
• The engineer will also evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies, communicate vision and solutions to stakeholders, and foster a collaborative environment.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 12+ years of proven experience, including at least 2 years as a Principal Software Engineer or in a similar senior engineering role focused on front-end development.
• Deep expertise in front-end technologies including TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frameworks such as React and Next.js is required.
• Advanced proficiency with Figma is highly preferred.
• Candidates should demonstrate the ability to create scalable user interfaces and have excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience in setting development standards, building frameworks, and mentoring engineering teams is essential.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate legacy systems are necessary.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
