Description:

The Principal Software Engineer (Full stack) position is remote-first and based in Canada.
The role involves driving the technical evolution of a best-in-class SaaS cloud platform, leading initiatives such as technical design, prototyping, building, and overseeing execution towards agreed goals.
Collaboration with product managers, technical architects, engineering management, software engineers, and other SMEs is essential to understand requirements and suggest appropriate solutions.
The engineer will take a technical lead role in agile teams, providing hands-on technical expertise while ensuring technical progress against plans, functionality, security, scalability, and performance.
Responsibilities include delivering solutions in a cloud-managed and serverless-first platform ecosystem, ensuring consistent use of shared platform components, designing and developing reusable libraries and APIs, and contributing to best practices for backend and frontend application development.
The role also requires developing and promoting a full spectrum of test suites and a quality mindset, as well as mentoring Software Engineers through advice, coaching, and training opportunities.

Requirements:

Candidates must have extensive experience in architecting and developing highly scalable enterprise-level services, platforms, or products.
Extensive experience in building large-scale distributed enterprise applications in geographically distributed teams is required.
Experience working with a marketing stack is a definite plus.
Knowledge of modern cloud architectures and technologies is necessary, with experience in AWS being a significant advantage.
Deep knowledge of both back end and front end stacks is required, including familiarity with Java, Node.js, Python, Redis, and React.js/Typescript.
A working knowledge of content management systems, experimentation, and SEO is desired.
Excellent communication skills are essential, along with experience in documenting and delivering technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience in a startup or high-growth environment and the ability to hustle is desirable.
Hands-on experience in integrating CRM systems such as Salesforce or HubSpot with internal systems, as well as integrating third-party systems with internal and external workflows, is a plus.

The annual gross base salary range for this position is between $130,000 to $160,000 CAD, with actual compensation depending on qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location.
The position is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance in addition to the base salary.
