Remote Principal Software Engineer (Node&React/React Native) - WORK FROM HOME - #34379

Description:

• As a Principal Software Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across our TypeScript-based platforms, including Node.js backends, a React Native mobile app, and a React web portal.
• You will design and implement scalable, secure systems that comply with financial regulatory requirements.
• Your role includes establishing development standards, best practices, and security protocols.
• You will mentor and support the engineering team in the Philippines and ensure effective knowledge transfer from the London team.
• You will align technical direction with overall business objectives.
• You will partner with London leadership to establish the engineering presence in the Philippines and lead the recruitment and hiring process for the initial engineering team.
• You will manage, mentor, and develop the growing team of software engineers in the Philippines.
• You will oversee knowledge transfer from London to the offshore team, ensuring smooth collaboration.
• You will lead technical planning sessions and contribute to product roadmap development.
• You will ensure compliance with financial industry regulations and data protection standards, implementing and maintaining security measures appropriate for financial data handling.

Requirements:

• You must have at least 5 years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in a senior-level role.
• You should possess deep expertise in the TypeScript/JavaScript ecosystem, including Node.js, React, and React Native.
• A strong understanding of cloud architecture, particularly AWS services, is required.
• You must have experience designing and implementing secure, scalable, and observable architectures.
• A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies is essential.
• You should demonstrate excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
• Outstanding communication abilities in English, with experience bridging remote teams, are necessary.
• A history of successfully implementing DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitHub Actions, is required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is advantageous.
• Experience with Terraform and DevOps pipelines is a plus.
• Experience working in fintech or handling sensitive financial data is beneficial.
• Knowledge of financial industry security standards and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, PCI) is preferred.
• A proven track record of leading technical teams and managing developers is advantageous.
• Experience establishing new development teams or offices is a plus.
• Prior success in building engineering teams from scratch is beneficial.
• A background in financial services or property technology is advantageous.
• Experience working within financial regulatory frameworks is preferred.
• Certifications in cloud architecture, security, or project management are a plus.
• Experience with microservices architecture and containerization is beneficial.
