Description:

As a Principal Engineer - Platform, you will define the technical vision for Atlan’s platform, driving the architecture and strategy for scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise customers across various industries.
You will tackle complex challenges in metadata management, distributed systems, and large-scale data processing to deliver innovative solutions.
Your responsibilities include architecting and implementing solutions such as a large-scale metadata graph, OLAP-ready lakehouse, and vector capabilities.
You will own and deliver on the major business outcomes for the Atlan Platform.
Leading technical initiatives to enhance observability, optimize costs, and strengthen system security and compliance will be part of your role.
You will collaborate with globally distributed teams and mentor engineers to cultivate excellence.
Serving as a technical thought leader, you will advocate for best practices in engineering and contribute to Atlan’s technical community.

Requirements:

You must have 12+ years of experience in solving challenging problems at scale, particularly in metadata management and distributed computing.
Proficiency in Go or Java is required, along with the ability to write clean, well-documented code that stands the test of time.
Experience managing Kubernetes clusters and ensuring enterprise-grade security across cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP is essential.
You should excel at API design and management for large-scale platforms.
A cost and security-first mindset is necessary, with a focus on optimizing and securing systems.
Passion for working on industry-leading innovations, such as building the world’s largest metadata graph, is expected.
You should value transparency and accountability, thriving in a culture of rapid iteration, timely feedback, and a build fast-fail fast approach.
