Description:
The Principal Software Engineer will join the Security Operations Center (SOC) Platform team at Huntress, a fully remote company focused on protecting small to midsize businesses from cyber threats.
This role involves leading a feature delivery team in the design, development, and release of software features for the SOC Platform.
Responsibilities include strategizing with senior leaders, leading the design and architecture of complex software systems, providing technical guidance, and collaborating with product managers and stakeholders.
The engineer will oversee the entire life cycle of the system, identify performance bottlenecks, promote continuous improvement, and mentor junior engineers.
The position requires staying updated with industry trends and leading code reviews to ensure code quality.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 10+ years of experience developing complex software products and 8+ years of programming in Ruby on Rails.
A BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
Experience in an Agile or Scrum environment, with Javascript, AWS or public cloud environments, Linux-based infrastructure, and databases such as Postgres is necessary.
Strong technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate complex topics to non-technical audiences.
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate across teams, and have a passion for technology and high-quality software features.
