Description:

  • The Principal Software Engineer will join the Security Operations Center (SOC) Platform team at Huntress, a fully remote company focused on protecting small to midsize businesses from cyber threats.
  • This role involves leading a feature delivery team in the design, development, and release of software features for the SOC Platform.
  • Responsibilities include strategizing with senior leaders, leading the design and architecture of complex software systems, providing technical guidance, and collaborating with product managers and stakeholders.
  • The engineer will oversee the entire life cycle of the system, identify performance bottlenecks, promote continuous improvement, and mentor junior engineers.
  • The position requires staying updated with industry trends and leading code reviews to ensure code quality.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 10+ years of experience developing complex software products and 8+ years of programming in Ruby on Rails.
  • A BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
  • Experience in an Agile or Scrum environment, with Javascript, AWS or public cloud environments, Linux-based infrastructure, and databases such as Postgres is necessary.
  • Strong technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate complex topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Candidates should demonstrate the ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate across teams, and have a passion for technology and high-quality software features.
