Description:
Outrider is a software company focused on automating distribution yards with electric, self-driving trucks, aiming to improve safety and efficiency while eliminating hazardous manual tasks.
The company is seeking a Perception Algorithms & State Estimation Engineer to tackle complex perception and state estimation challenges for online autonomy.
The role involves designing and developing state estimation solutions for autonomous vehicles, defining metrics, and collaborating with the perception team and other teams for deployment.
Responsibilities include mentoring team members and delivering solutions ready for deployment on autonomous vehicles.
Requirements:
Candidates must be skilled in modern C++ and Python.
Experience in developing state-of-the-art state estimation solutions for real-time applications in robotics, including Extended/Unscented Kalman Filters (E/KFs), factor graphs, and optimization is required.
Applicants should have experience in building mapping and calibration solutions.
Familiarity with camera, lidar, and/or radar data in autonomy applications is essential.
Candidates must be comfortable iterating on complex problems and models, including problem definition, data handling, debugging, evaluation, and deployment.
Excellent communication skills are necessary.
Candidates should be self-starters, capable of working independently and overcoming challenges.
Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $250,000, with actual compensation based on skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.
