Description:
Trellis is a profitable, fast-growing, Series A start-up focused on simplifying and automating shopping for home and auto insurance.
The Principal Software Engineer / Tech Lead, Head of Real-Time Bidding will report directly to the CEO.
This role is responsible for maximizing ROI on over $100 million per year of programmatic marketing spend.
The position will own and grow efforts to programmatically bid and acquire insurance shoppers, ensuring maximum ROI.
Goals include smarter customer acquisition, maintaining a high-quality platform, and building a high-quality team.
Requirements:
Extensive backend engineering experience, particularly with API-based customer acquisition, and proficiency in Python and NodeJS.
Experience in productionalizing Machine Learning (ML), including data management and governance.
Strong product/business acumen with executive-level P&L responsibility and the ability to prioritize projects effectively.
Excellent organizational skills to manage a wide surface area of software.
A motivational and positive attitude to build trust and rapport with team members and stakeholders.
Comfort with data storage, analysis, and machine learning in production.
Ability to work at a brisk pace, adapting quickly to new problems and maintaining a bias for action.
