Description:
PeopleFun is seeking a passionate and experienced Principal Software Engineer to lead the technical development of Wordscapes Shapes.
The role involves planning, execution, and delivery of game features to meet business objectives.
Candidates must collaborate cross-functionally with other discipline leads to improve KPIs and grow Wordscapes Shapes.
The engineer will lead architecture discussions and planning sessions with a cross-functional team.
Responsibilities include managing priorities, assessing trade-offs, and mitigating risks to ensure on-time delivery of projects.
The engineer will work closely with game designers, artists, and product managers to align technical solutions with business goals and player needs.
Proactive communication of status, risks, and mitigation strategies to the team is essential.
The role requires identifying and resolving complex technical challenges, writing clean and efficient code, and creating clear technical documentation.
The engineer will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and identify gaps in the technology stack to prioritize work effectively.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 8+ years of professional experience in the mobile gaming industry with a proven track record of delivering quality products on time.
Extensive experience in the Unity game engine is required, with an understanding of best practices for quick execution.
A demonstrated record of managing priorities, assessing trade-offs, and mitigating risks effectively is essential.
Strong technical skills in object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms are necessary.
The ability to lead architecture discussions is required.
Candidates should have extensive applied knowledge of game client and server architecture.

Experience working on cross-functional teams with effective verbal and written communication skills is required.

PeopleFun offers a competitive total compensation package with a pay-for-performance rewards approach.
The expected base pay range for this position is $140,000-$205,000, based on market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Additional compensation may include equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of the total package.
