Description:
Node is seeking an experienced, lead-level cloud developer and solution architect for the position of Principal/Lead AWS Cloud Modernization Engineer.
The role involves evaluating, estimating, designing, implementing, and documenting cloud-centric application architectures and deployment methodologies.
The candidate will contribute to cloud enablement and cost optimization efforts while promoting cloud architecture and DevOps best practices.
Responsibilities include leading delivery efforts, mentoring team members, and collaborating with other teams to meet technical requirements and committed timelines.
The candidate must understand development and deployment workflows and provide actionable guidance for application re-factoring efforts.
The position is remote, and candidates must be US citizens or Green Card holders.
Requirements:
Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in solutions and deploying applications in AWS.
A minimum of 3 years of lead experience demonstrating the ability to own and drive deliverables with minimal technical guidance is required.
Proficiency in AWS Lambda/Step Functions for serverless architectures is necessary.
Experience with AWS ECS/Fargate for containerized deployments (e.g., Docker) is required.
Candidates must have knowledge of AWS RDS for relational and NoSQL database design/management and data management.
A strong understanding of general and AWS virtual networking is essential.
Knowledge of cloud security and recovery practices is required.
Experience with web services and application programming interfaces (APIs) is necessary.
Familiarity with AWS data streaming/messaging services (e.g., Kinesis, Data Firehose, SQS, SNS) is required.
Proficiency in Terraform and CloudFormation is necessary.
Experience with CI/CD automation using GitHub/GitLab is required.
Candidates must have experience implementing auto-scaling, cost-management techniques, and operational monitoring.
Experience architecting for both Linux and Windows environments is required.
Significant experience with at least one programming language (preferably two or more) such as Golang, Python, .NET/C#, or Java is necessary.
AWS Certification(s) are highly desired.
Experience with alternative cloud providers (Azure, GCP), Kubernetes, and Big Data pipelines and/or MLOps is a plus.
