Remote Principal/Lead Azure Cloud Modernization Engineer

Description:

• Node is seeking an experienced, lead level, cloud developer and solution architect for the Principal/Lead Azure Cloud Modernization Engineer position.
• The role involves evaluating, estimating, designing, implementing, and documenting cloud-centric application architectures and deployment methodologies.
• The candidate will contribute to cloud enablement and cost optimization efforts while promoting cloud architecture and DevOps best practices.
• Responsibilities include leading delivery efforts, mentoring team members, and collaborating with other teams to meet technical requirements and committed timelines.
• The candidate must understand development and deployment workflows and provide actionable guidance for application re-factoring efforts.
• The position is remote and requires US citizenship or Green Card.

Requirements:

• The candidate must have 5+ years of experience in Azure solutions and deploying applications in AWS.
• A minimum of 3+ years of lead experience demonstrating the ability to own and drive deliverables with minimal technical guidance is required.
• Proficiency in developing serverless architectures using Azure Functions and Logic Apps is necessary.
• Expertise in containerized deployments, including Docker and orchestration with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or Azure Container Instances is required.
• Proficiency in relational and NoSQL database design and management, including Azure SQL Database and Azure Cosmos DB, is essential.
• A strong understanding of general networking concepts and Azure virtual networking, including VNet, VPN, and ExpressRoute configurations, is needed.
• The candidate must have knowledge of cloud security and recovery, web services, and application programming interfaces (APIs).
• Familiarity with Azure messaging/streaming services such as Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, and Azure Event Hubs is required.
• Experience with Terraform and CloudFormation is necessary.
• CI/CD automation experience using GitHub/GitLab is required.
• The candidate must have experience implementing auto-scaling, cost-management techniques, and operational monitoring.
• Experience architecting for both Linux and Windows environments is essential.
• Significant experience with at least one (preferably two+) of the following programming languages: Golang, Python, .NET/C#, or Java is required.
• Highly desired additional skills include Azure Certification(s), experience with alternative cloud providers (AWS, GCP), Kubernetes, and Big Data pipelines and/or MLOps.
