As a Principal Data Engineer, you will engage with enterprise-level organizations to provide consultative views and direction on best practice data architecture using Google Cloud solutions.
You will play a key role in the technical delivery of complex and innovative data solutions for customers across the Benelux region and the UK.
The role involves leading client engagements, consulting on architecture modernization, and delivering cloud data platform solutions.
You will create and maintain standards around Google Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and other data technologies, and document best practices for the engineering community.
Mentoring and developing engineers within the Qodea Data Team and customer engineering teams is also a key responsibility.
The position is primarily remote, with options for office work and a 'Work from Anywhere' policy allowing overseas work for up to 3 months a year.

Requirements:

You must have strong experience as a Senior/Principal Cloud Data Engineer with a proven track record of migrating large volumes of data using cloud data services.
Experience working on projects within large enterprise organizations, either as an internal resource or as a third-party consultant, is required.
You should have performed a technical leadership role on projects and contributed to technical decision-making during in-flight projects.
A diverse project background with various tools and technologies, along with strong problem-solving skills, is essential.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are necessary for engaging with customers.
Significant coding experience in Python and Scala or Java is required.
Familiarity with big data processing tools such as Hadoop or Spark is needed.
Cloud experience, specifically with GCP services like Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, GCS, Secret Manager, and Vertex AI, is essential.
Experience with Terraform is required.
Prior experience in a customer-facing consultancy role is highly desirable.
Experience working with agile software engineering teams is preferred.
