Description:

  • ButterflyMX, a company founded in 2014, is seeking a Product Security Engineer to join their team.
  • The company specializes in empowering individuals to manage doors and gates from a smartphone, with products installed in over 10,000 properties globally.
  • The role involves prioritizing the protection of clients', tenants', and employees' information assets, ensuring comprehensive security of systems and data.
  • The Security Engineer will design, implement, and maintain security controls across the technology stack to protect sensitive data and systems.
  • Responsibilities include leading vulnerability management, extending detection and response capabilities, driving security incident response efforts, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • The position requires collaborating with cross-functional teams, staying updated on security threats and trends, conducting security awareness training, and serving as a point of contact for security-related inquiries.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of security engineering experience in a fast-paced, agile, cloud-native startup environment.
  • Experience securing SaaS, Mobile, and IoT solutions and working with cross-functional teams to mitigate security risks.
  • Proficiency in deploying and managing security solutions in a remote-first organization with a cloud tech stack.
  • Expertise in AWS security, including securing EC2, S3, Lambda, and other services.
  • Strong understanding of multiple security domains such as cloud security, data security, network security, and incident management.
  • Experience with SOC 2 Type II compliance, data privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Ability to educate on technical security vulnerabilities, automate security controls, and implement security and privacy by design principles.
  • Industry certifications like AWS Security Certified, CISSP, CCSP, or similar are preferred.
