Description:
Deep Origin is seeking a Project CTO / Staff Software Engineer to be a crucial part of the software engineering team responsible for developing the core cloud platform and collaborating with key partners.
The role involves designing and implementing large-scale systems, creating APIs that connect with various cloud providers and partners, and taking ownership of software feature areas and their architectural design.
The position requires working independently with a significant impact on software implementation.
The company envisions a future with extended lifespans and disease-free living by building an operating system for science to enhance productivity and accelerate life science innovations.
Requirements:
Must have experience as a project CTO, staff, principal engineer, or technical lead.
10+ years of experience in designing, building, and managing complex, highly scalable distributed applications and systems.
5+ years of hands-on software development experience using TypeScript/JavaScript/NodeJS.
Proficiency in relational databases (e.g., Postgres) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure/deployment tools, especially in cluster operations and operators.
Previous involvement in building platforms from the ground up and scaling them to accommodate a large user base (10,000+ DAU).
Extensive experience in system design, working with complex data sets/relations, and distributed systems/platforms.
Emphasis on architectural considerations over code implementation, with experience in multi-tenant systems.
Demonstrated systematic problem-solving skills, a sense of ownership, and self-motivation.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment with rapid product delivery cycles.
Benefits:
Opportunity to work with a team led by Michael Antonov, a co-founder of Oculus, and backed by Formic Ventures.
Chance to contribute to a project aimed at revolutionizing the way scientists work and advancing life science innovations.
Ownership of key software feature areas and architectural design with a high level of independence and impact.
