Oowlish is seeking a Python Backend Developer to join their team, focusing on building and maintaining backend services for a platform that enhances travel and house-sitting experiences.
The role involves developing, maintaining, and optimizing backend services and RESTful APIs using Python.
Collaboration with frontend, design, and product teams is essential to build scalable and reliable systems.
The developer will work with relational and/or non-relational databases (SQL, NoSQL) and ensure the backend architecture is efficient, secure, and scalable.
There may be occasional support or collaboration with frontend tasks if the developer is familiar with React.
Participation in Agile workflows, code reviews, and technical discussions is expected.
The position is remote, allowing for a flexible work-life balance.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 3+ years of professional experience with Python development.
A solid understanding of RESTful APIs and backend service design is required.
Experience working with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) is necessary.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to code quality are essential.
Candidates must be comfortable working remotely and collaborating with distributed teams.
Applicants must be based in Brazil.
Familiarity with React is a nice-to-have, along with a willingness to occasionally contribute to frontend development tasks.
Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and exposure to cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) are also considered advantageous.
