Description:

  • Blockhouse is seeking a talented Quantitative Data Analyst to develop insightful data visualizations and analytics for their financial platform.
  • The role involves creating advanced analytics and visualizations that help users interpret complex financial data and optimize trading execution.
  • Responsibilities include building custom reporting tools for trade execution performance, slippage, liquidity, and other financial metrics.
  • The analyst will collaborate with quantitative researchers, data scientists, and engineers to align data analysis with trading algorithms and strategies.
  • The position requires leveraging large datasets from financial markets to identify trends and anomalies for improving execution strategies.
  • The analyst will design user-friendly dashboards for real-time and historical financial data, enabling backtesting of trading strategies.
  • Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability is crucial, along with implementing best practices for data validation.
  • The role includes translating complex datasets into compelling visual narratives for diverse audiences, including traders and executive leadership.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
  • Expertise in data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI is necessary, with familiarity in Python visualization libraries being a plus.
  • Proven experience in quantitative analysis, including statistical modeling and financial analysis, is essential, particularly in finance or trading.
  • Strong programming proficiency in Python or R, along with experience in relevant data libraries such as pandas, NumPy, and SciPy, is required.
  • A deep understanding of capital markets, trading strategies, and asset classes, especially fixed income and equities, is necessary.
  • Attention to detail is critical to ensure accuracy and clarity in analyses and visualizations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • A natural curiosity for exploring financial data and generating innovative solutions is essential.
