Description:
The Quantum Linker is seeking a Quantum Network Engineer to design, develop, and deploy quantum communication systems that transform how information is transmitted and secured.
The role involves collaborating with quantum physicists, software developers, and hardware engineers to create the infrastructure for scalable quantum networks.
Key responsibilities include developing architectures for quantum networks, implementing quantum communication protocols, and optimizing network hardware.
The engineer will integrate classical and quantum networks, monitor and enhance network performance, and collaborate on security and cryptography applications.
Staying ahead of quantum networking advances by researching emerging technologies and methodologies is also a crucial part of the job.
Requirements:
A deep understanding of quantum mechanics, including expertise in concepts like entanglement, superposition, and quantum teleportation as they apply to quantum communication is required.
Proficiency in network engineering, with experience in network design, protocols, and optimization, particularly in integrating quantum devices is necessary.
Knowledge of quantum cryptography, including familiarity with quantum key distribution (QKD) and other quantum-secure communication methods, is essential.
Strong programming and simulation skills in languages such as Python or MATLAB for simulating quantum network behaviors and developing protocols are required.
Problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot and optimize quantum networks while balancing performance, security, and scalability are needed.
A Master’s or Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required, with equivalent experience in quantum networking considered.
At least 3+ years of experience in network engineering or quantum communication, with a proven track record of designing or implementing quantum systems is necessary.
Familiarity with hardware such as single-photon detectors, quantum repeaters, and entangled photon sources is preferred.
Experience with hybrid quantum-classical systems and integration challenges is a plus.
