Description:
The Quantum Software Engineer will craft software that bridges classical and quantum computing.
This role involves developing innovative quantum applications, frameworks, and algorithms.
The engineer will collaborate with quantum physicists, algorithm developers, and hardware engineers.
Responsibilities include designing and developing quantum software, focusing on practical implementations of quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning.
The engineer will integrate quantum and classical computing by developing hybrid systems that maximize computational efficiency.
They will optimize quantum algorithms for hardware, adapting them to work effectively on current quantum platforms.
The role includes contributing to open-source quantum programming frameworks like Qiskit, Cirq, or PennyLane.
The engineer will validate and test quantum applications using quantum simulators and hardware.
They will drive innovation in quantum tool development by creating debuggers, profilers, and simulators.
Staying ahead of advances in quantum software through continuous research and integration of emerging techniques is essential.
Requirements:
Proficiency in quantum programming with expertise in tools and languages such as Qiskit, Cirq, TensorFlow Quantum, or PennyLane is required.
Strong software engineering skills with advanced proficiency in Python, C++, or Java are necessary.
Knowledge of quantum algorithms, including those for optimization, cryptography, and simulation, is essential.
Experience with quantum hardware platforms like IBM Quantum, Google Sycamore, Rigetti, or trapped-ion systems is required.
Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills to translate complex computational problems into efficient quantum software solutions are necessary.
A Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field is required, with equivalent experience in quantum software development considered.
Certifications or training in quantum computing or software engineering are advantageous.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in software engineering is required, with at least 1 year focused on quantum computing or hybrid quantum-classical systems.
A proven track record of developing quantum applications or contributing to quantum programming frameworks is necessary.
Experience working on cross-disciplinary teams with physicists, mathematicians, and engineers is required.
