The R&D - ML Engineer (Mid) / Horizon Project Technical Leader position at EXUS AI Labs offers the opportunity to work in a fully remote capacity within a diverse and multidisciplinary team focused on driving innovation in software engineering, A.I., and data analytics.
The role involves technical project management, technical specification definition, architecture design, application of Machine Learning algorithms, statistical analysis, collaboration with data scientists and software engineers, and providing technical solutions throughout a project's lifecycle.
The department is engaged in large-scale Research and Innovation Projects in sectors like Security, Health, and Creativity, with core competencies in A.I., data analytics, real-time systems engineering, complex event processing, and large-scale cloud implementations.

Requirements:

A BSc degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, with an MSc degree being highly appreciated.
3 to 5 years of proven working experience in application development projects.
Strong knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, and computational algorithms.
Competence in software engineering and design, understanding of data structures, data modeling, and software architectures.
Expertise in data analysis, visualization, Python, machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, pandas, scikit-learn), Git, and REST-API design.
Experience in Research / H2020 Projects is highly valued.
Preferred skills include experience in Django, FLASK, or FastAPI frameworks, familiarity with SQL databases, Docker, continuous integration processes, and event-driven processes.
General skills required are excellent English language proficiency, strong problem-solving and analytical thinking, self-motivation, and a team player mindset.
Ability to travel up to 10% of total working time in European destinations or fulfilled military obligations for male candidates.
