Distance is an all-in-one customer experience platform built for service businesses, focusing on deepening relationships between merchants and their customers.
The position is for a Back-end Developer working remotely, specifically for candidates based in the Philippines.
The role requires full-time work during Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.
Responsibilities include researching, designing, and developing upstream services using the latest back-end technologies.
Developers will evaluate new tools and technologies as they evolve and maintain existing services to support downstream applications.
The role also involves maintaining and scaling existing cloud infrastructure and promoting best practices within the team.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 4+ years of experience in building highly optimized back-end solutions using Golang, Protobuf, gRPC, and GraphQL.
A minimum of 2 years of experience managing resources in Google Cloud Platform using Terraform IAC or similar is required, with experience in managing a Kubernetes cluster being essential.
Experience in building back-end APIs and integrations with CRMs such as Zapier, Quickbooks, Hubspot, Salesforce, and Pipedrive is necessary.
Strong knowledge of common algorithms and data structures is required.
Candidates should have significant experience in writing reliable, performant, maintainable, and testable code with proper abstraction.
Experience in building communication and telephony products, such as Twilio API, Email/SMTP, SMS, and VoIP, is a plus.
A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential.
Proficiency in English with good writing and communication skills is required.
Candidates must be willing to work in the Eastern Standard North American time zone.
