Pelago is seeking a Remote Frontend Engineer to help redefine the way travelers explore the world.
The role involves developing performant, accessible, and responsive frontend applications using modern web technologies.
Candidates will collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver user-centric solutions.
Responsibilities include driving the architecture and design of frontend systems, writing clean and maintainable code using TypeScript, React.js, and Next.js, and ensuring high standards of usability, performance, security, and scalability.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 3-5 years of experience building production-grade frontend applications with React.js, Next.js, and TypeScript.
A deep familiarity with Next.js and modern frontend architecture for server-side rendering and static site generation is essential.
Applicants should possess a solid understanding of Core Web Vitals and performance metrics such as LCP, FID, CLS, and TTFB.
Strong experience with CSS and preprocessors like SASS/SCSS is required.
Experience integrating with APIs, including REST and ideally GraphQL, is necessary.
A solid understanding of accessibility, performance optimization, and responsive design is expected.
Proficiency with tools and processes such as Git, CI/CD pipelines, unit/integration testing, and code reviews is important.
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a remote setup are essential.
Excellent communication skills to explain ideas and decisions clearly to various stakeholders are required.
