Description:

  • FusionTek is a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) with a focus on IT infrastructure management for small- to mid-sized businesses since 2007.
  • The company is seeking a Remote Incident Response Tech Lead who is a proactive problem-solver with a client-focused attitude.
  • The role involves high-touch technical management for incident response projects, requiring frequent communication with stakeholders through written, verbal, and video calls.
  • The Tech Lead will translate technical information to clients who may not have a technical background, necessitating strong communication skills.
  • Responsibilities include managing incident response recovery efforts from start to finish, including project mobilization, technical workstream management, and client/vendor communication.
  • The position requires availability for shifts, including 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 2:00 PM – Midnight South Africa Standard Time (SAST).
  • The role involves documenting and tracking project tasks through a ticketing system and maintaining up-to-date documentation.
  • The Tech Lead will serve as an escalation point for technical questions from engineers and clients and will work with a team to deliver world-class service.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have excellent comprehension and communication skills in the English language.
  • Previous experience leading a technical team is required.
  • Knowledge of Office 365 and Azure cloud services is necessary.
  • Candidates should have knowledge of Active Directory and complex networking troubleshooting, including VLANs, routing, subnetting, and packet captures.
  • A broad understanding of operating systems and advanced OS troubleshooting skills is essential.
  • Comfort with different operating systems in both CLI and GUI environments is required.
  • SQL database knowledge is a plus.
  • Advanced firewall configuration skills and experience troubleshooting ingress/egress issues are necessary.
  • Familiarity with diverse firewall UIs such as SonicWall, Meraki, FortiGate, Cisco, and WatchGuard is required.
  • Strong comprehension of system architecture and understanding of network and system performance elements are crucial.
  • Time management skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Candidates must possess superb verbal and written communication skills.
  • A demonstrated skillset through industry certifications or a plan to obtain them is required.
  • Previous recovery or remediation experience is a plus.
  • Experience working in a ticketing system is preferred, with Autotask experience being an advantage.

Benefits:

  • The salary range for this position is R800,000 to R950,000.
