The Credit Pros is seeking a Senior Backend Developer for a 100% full-time remote opportunity.
The role involves designing and implementing backend services, APIs, and databases using PHP (Laravel) and Python.
Responsibilities include leading backend design, infrastructure planning, and collaborating across teams to bring digital products to life.
The developer will own major systems, design for scalability, and play a key role in the agile delivery process.
The position requires influencing technology strategy, coaching others, and ensuring backend excellence aligns with business priorities.
The developer will manage the full lifecycle of backend systems, create and manage database structures, and enforce best practices in application security.
The role includes working closely with DevOps to ensure backend services are performant and cost-effective in AWS environments.
The developer will collaborate with product managers, QA, and front-end teams to define deliverables and sprint goals.
The position involves mentoring other developers and leading by example in writing clean, testable, and well-documented code.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 6+ years of experience in backend development roles.
Advanced knowledge of PHP (Laravel) and Python is required.
Expertise in REST/GraphQL API design and secure integration patterns is necessary.
Experience with application security, including vulnerability scanning and mitigation, is essential.
Strong knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, and data modeling principles is required.
Candidates should have experience working with CI/CD, Git, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
Proficiency in AWS services and cloud cost optimization strategies is necessary.
A strong understanding of Agile methodologies, sprint planning, and estimation techniques is required.
Familiarity with AI/ML integration and microservices architecture is a plus.
Candidates should possess clear communication skills and thrive in collaborative environments.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) is required.
Proven track record in backend leadership roles within agile software teams is necessary.

The position offers a base salary of USD $60,000 - 80,000 per year.
