Description:

The Credit Pros is seeking a Senior Backend Developer for a 100% full-time remote opportunity.
The role involves designing and implementing backend services, APIs, and databases using PHP (Laravel) and Python, ensuring clean, scalable, and secure architecture.
Responsibilities include leading the full lifecycle of backend systems, managing database structures, and creating data pipelines with a focus on efficiency and performance.
The developer will build and document robust RESTful and GraphQL APIs while enforcing best practices in application security.
Collaboration with DevOps is essential to ensure backend services are performant and cost-effective in AWS environments, managing CI/CD pipelines for deployments, testing, and monitoring.
The position requires active participation in Agile ceremonies and collaboration with cross-functional teams to define deliverables and sprint goals.
The developer will serve as a mentor to other developers, enforce code review standards, and lead architectural discussions backed by data and best practices.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 6+ years of experience in backend development roles.
Advanced knowledge of PHP (Laravel) and Python is required.
Expertise in REST/GraphQL API design and secure integration patterns is essential.
Experience with application security, including vulnerability scanning and mitigation, is necessary.
Strong knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, and data modeling principles is required.
Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and infrastructure-as-code tools is expected.
Proficiency in AWS services and cloud cost optimization strategies is needed.
A strong understanding of Agile methodologies, sprint planning, and estimation techniques is required.
Familiarity with AI/ML integration and microservices architecture is a plus.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Proven track record in backend leadership roles within agile software teams is necessary, along with prior mentorship or team leadership experience being a plus.

The position offers a base salary ranging from USD $60,000 to $80,000 per year.
