Description:
The position is for a Remote Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer who will be responsible for building and managing cloud infrastructure using a code-first mindset.
The engineer will implement data storage solutions such as S3, ERDS, and NoSQL databases.
Automating workflows using orchestration systems like Airflow and Oozie is a key responsibility.
The role includes building monitoring and observability dashboards.
Cost optimization and management of cloud resources are essential tasks.
The engineer will enforce security by creating and maintaining users and roles, assigning privileges, and establishing procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
Performing on-call duties to ensure 24x7 operational uptime is required.
The engineer will also be responsible for setting up and maintaining documentation and standards.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP, specifically in designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipeline infrastructure.
A solid understanding of Big Data fundamentals, including managing big data infrastructure and monitoring data pipelines, is required.
Strong programming skills in Python and Shell scripting are necessary.
Working experience with data platforms such as EMR, AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Hadoop, or Databricks is essential.
Candidates should have experience with both relational and non-relational databases and their management.
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation, as well as Jenkins IAM and networking security, is required.
Experience with performance diagnostics, debugging, and performance tuning is necessary.
Familiarity with container software and platforms like Kubernetes and ECS is expected.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
