Blockworks is a financial media brand focused on delivering breaking news and premium insights about digital assets to millions of investors.
As a Research Data Analyst, you will create in-depth analytics and dashboards that track the health, profitability, and usership of various protocols and sectors.
You will build dashboards by writing queries against data sources and maintaining protocol dashboards covering L1s, L2s, and popular applications.
Collaboration with protocol teams is essential, as you will provide data collection and analysis based on their needs.
You will actively seek out the best data sources and engage in constant experimentation.
You will assist in developing new frameworks for crypto investors and builders, focusing on blockchain value accrual, user activity segmentation, financial models, and valuation metrics.
Continuous learning and sharing knowledge with the broader Research and Advisory teams is expected.
Comfort with experimentation and being in uncomfortable situations is necessary.

Requirements:

A passion for crypto and a strong curiosity about how blockchains work, along with experience using on-chain applications.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with on-chain data analytics tools like Dune or Flipside.
Understanding of smart contracts on EVM chains and familiarity with other frameworks like SVM, MoveVM, and CosmWasm.
Experience navigating block explorers across various environments and eagerness to work with new data frameworks.
Any experience in a data-heavy role or as a research analyst in crypto, TradFi, or consulting that required SQL, dbt, or Python is preferred.
Familiarity with cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery is welcomed.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to write long-form research about complex ideas in a clear and cohesive manner.

This is a full-time exempt position with an expected salary of $120,000/year.
