Description:

  • Limitless is seeking a Research Engineer in Applied AI to contribute to the development of software and hardware aimed at enhancing human memory.
  • The role involves applying cutting-edge research to real-world problems in audio, speech, and AI, with a focus on creating impactful features.
  • Responsibilities include designing and implementing novel solutions for audio processing, transcription, summarization, and context-aware reasoning.
  • The candidate will own end-to-end machine learning experiments, collaborating with engineering and product teams to translate user needs into AI-powered features.
  • Success metrics for models will be defined, and the candidate will iterate based on user and system feedback.

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with foundation models (e.g., Whisper, GPT, BERT) and traditional machine learning, with a proven track record of shipping features.
  • Familiarity with audio and language domains, including ASR and diarization, is essential for quickly ramping up and identifying real-world edge cases.
  • Strong product instincts are necessary to determine when a product meets user needs or requires deeper research.
  • A startup mindset is crucial, with an emphasis on ownership, speed, and impact rather than lengthy roadmaps.
  • Systems-level thinking is required to trace problems from raw data to model behavior and user impact.
