Description:

  • Starburst Data is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join as a Resident Solution Architect.
  • The role involves working closely with customers to understand their business challenges and requirements.
  • Responsibilities include architecting and implementing solutions using Starburst products.
  • The Resident Solution Architect will design and implement comprehensive training programs for partners.
  • This position serves as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them maximize the value of their data.
  • Key tasks include collaborating with customers to understand their business goals, data architecture, and technical requirements.
  • The architect will design end-to-end solutions leveraging Starburst products for data access, analytics, and performance optimization.
  • Development of architectural diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation plans for customer projects is required.
  • The role includes leading the implementation and deployment of Starburst solutions, working closely with customer teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Providing technical guidance and best practices to customers on using Starburst products effectively is essential.
  • The architect will work with partners to train and upskill external personnel on Starburst products.
  • Collaboration with internal teams and external partners to create resources and best practices is necessary.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during implementation and operation of Starburst solutions is part of the job.
  • Staying current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data management and analytics is expected.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical role such as solution architect, data engineer, or software engineer is necessary.
  • A deep understanding of data architecture principles, including data modeling, data integration, and data warehousing, is required.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with distributed query engines (e.g., Presto, Trino, Apache Spark) is essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about business challenges and technical solutions are needed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively interact with customers and internal teams.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Prior experience with open-source technologies and contributions to the open-source community are highly desirable.
  • Experience with technical training, either internally or externally, is highly desirable.

Benefits:

  • The base salary range for this full-time position is $135,000 - $155,000, plus bonus, subject to standard withholding and applicable taxes.
