Description:

  • The Ruby Backend Software Engineer role is a full-time position that can be performed remotely from within the EU.
  • The company is a remote-first, international SaaS organization focused on sales intelligence and web visitor identification.
  • The backend team primarily builds APIs, background data processing flows, and integrations, working with various databases such as AWS RDS & Aurora, AWS DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
  • The backend consists of multiple Ruby and Ruby on Rails applications, along with serverless components like AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Kinesis, and SQS.
  • The team emphasizes maintaining a tidy and well-tested codebase, dedicating time for upgrades, refactoring, and improvements for developer productivity.
  • There are opportunities for engineers to work on the Ember.js frontend and to engage in infrastructure, DevOps, and serverless development.
  • The role involves working with streaming and serverless components, optimizing data storage, building internal applications in Ruby, and providing code reviews.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have expertise in Ruby and a willingness to learn the company's technology stack.
  • An interest in building scalable serverless systems using AWS technologies such as Lambda, Kinesis, and API Gateway is required.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture patterns is essential, with experience in Kubernetes and gRPC being a plus.
  • Strong software architecture and data modeling skills are necessary to align engineering decisions with product vision.
  • Experience in DevOps and Infrastructure, particularly with AWS, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes, is advantageous.
  • Candidates should possess teamwork and communication skills to enhance the work of colleagues.
  • Experience in managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting production-grade web applications is required.
