Description:

• Claris Healthcare is seeking an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer to design, build, and manage quality code in Ruby.
• The primary responsibility of the Ruby on Rails Developer will be to develop full-stack logic and test its performance, ensuring seamless integration between server-side components and front-end elements.
• The developer will work on the flagship product, Claris Companion, aimed at improving the well-being and independence of seniors and individuals with chronic conditions.
• Responsibilities include maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby on Rails code, implementing user interface components with server-side logic, identifying and solving bottlenecks and bugs, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the development process.

Requirements:

Back-end Skills

• 2+ years of professional experience in Ruby on Rails development.
• Proficiency in Ruby, Rails, Javascript, and RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of Ruby syntaxes, object-oriented programming, MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful concepts.
• Experience with Postgres, Redis, and optimizing database performance.
• Ability to develop and consume APIs, write comprehensive tests using RSpec, Jasmine, and Cucumber.

Front-end Skills

• Familiarity with CoffeeScript and its integration in Rails applications.
• Good understanding of server-side templating languages like haml.
• Experience with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.

General Skills

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, version control tools like Git, and web app security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently or as part of a team, and a knack for writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of cloud services like AWS, Heroku, and experience in deploying Rails applications.
• Familiarity with development aiding tools such as Bower, Bundler, Rake, etc.
• iOS development experience is a huge plus.
