The position is for a Scala Data Engineer on the Knowledge Graph team, directly hired by a distinguished technology firm.
The role involves engaging in dynamic projects that support features across multiple products for a Fortune 500 company.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing systems that integrate diverse data sources, developing data processing pipelines and ETL processes, and creating fault-tolerant workflows.
The engineer will advocate for high data accuracy and promote a data-driven culture while making informed decisions on storage systems for data engineering and warehousing solutions.
The work will focus on evaluating the integrity and quality of an enriched canonical version of the knowledge graph at a large scale, handling substantial data through analytics, discovery, and sophisticated algorithms.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in software development and data engineering.
Proficiency in Scala and/or Java is required.
Experience with big data frameworks such as Spark and Hadoop, as well as cloud computing, is necessary.
Candidates should be skilled in SQL, data warehousing, and streaming technologies.
Knowledge of Unix-like systems and proficiency in English are required.
Nice to have qualifications include expertise in relational and non-relational databases, workflow scheduling tools, and experience with CQRS, event sourcing, distributed computing, Docker, and Kubernetes.
A passion for building valuable data assets to support business decisions is also desirable.
