Remote Scala Engineer

• The ideal candidate will have experience with Cats, FS2, Kafka, and PostgreSQL, along with a strong understanding of functional programming principles.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs is a big plus, as is knowledge of IM protocols such as XMPP.
• Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining robust, scalable backend systems in Scala, working with functional programming libraries, building event-driven applications using Kafka, designing and managing relational databases with PostgreSQL, collaborating on the integration of IM protocols for real-time communication features, and augmenting the chat product leveraging LLMs.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in Scala development is required.
• Strong knowledge of functional programming and type systems is necessary.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and event streaming is expected.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and database schema design is essential.
• Bonus points for hands-on experience with XMPP or similar IM protocols.
• Bonus points for experience with LLMs (Large Language Models).
