Description:
We are looking for a Scientist II, Data Extraction to join one of our growing Cross Functional Data Extraction teams.
This position is remote and welcomes applicants from Canada, the US, and the UK.
The goal of the team is to apply technology and vast data to solve challenging problems in pre-clinical research.
As a Scientist II, you will work with your team and the CFT Application teams to apply your scientific research knowledge as a subject matter expert.
You will identify solutions to real-world scientific problems and areas of development for both technology and data depth.
Responsibilities include generating training sets for ML modeling, helping with the labeling of text and image data from publications, and QA data from ML models and data pipelines.
You will conduct ongoing research to improve data collection for existing and new applications.
The role involves developing new ways to apply ML technology to design experiments, surface scientific insights, and improve value offerings to customers.
Keeping up with current biomedical research to guide technology development is also a key responsibility.
Requirements:
A PhD or MSc in life sciences (e.g., Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, etc.) is required.
Candidates must have 3+ years of relevant bench experience.
Extensive knowledge and/or bench experience in experimental biology research techniques is necessary, including pre-clinical studies, drug discovery, genetics, in vivo studies, immunological studies, functional assays, and microbiology.
Candidates should be comfortable with open-ended tasks.
An interest in using/prompting LLMs to manipulate data and achieve desired outputs is important.
Experience working with large data sets and data processing tools such as Excel, SQL, and Python/R is required.
