Description:
Hike is seeking a Backend Engineer to join their team remotely in Delhi, India.
The role involves developing, innovating, and integrating new technologies and tools for the Rush Gaming Universe.
Responsibilities include scoping out tasks and systems for future improvements, mentoring other engineers, defining and developing core gaming server components, optimizing code and memory usage for high-performance scalable systems, and collaborating with product managers and other engineers.
The engineer will work on systems that impact the experience of millions of users and must be able to write coherent, organized code while navigating a complicated codebase.
Requirements:
Candidates must have strong experience in backend gaming technologies and networking protocols.
Proficiency in coding with Java and/or C# is required.
A strong understanding of TCP/IP and UDP protocols is necessary.
Basic knowledge of distributed systems is expected.
Proficiency in designing REST APIs using JSON and XML formats is required.
Candidates should have experience designing relational databases and schemas.
The ability to scale systems for hundreds of thousands of concurrent connections is essential.
A minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant industry experience is required.
Strong Object Oriented design and architecture skills are necessary.
A solid foundation in computer science, including competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design, is required.
Proven ability to architect and design large and complicated systems is essential.
Excellent communication skills, particularly in discussing timelines and design concerns, are necessary.
Experience with common workflow tools like source control (GIT) and bug tracking (JIRA) is required.
