Description:
The Security Engineer will be responsible for securing company assets by taking proactive measures, identifying vulnerabilities, deploying protective technologies, and responding to incidents.
The role involves collaborating with peers to ensure a comprehensive understanding of security best practices and to architect and deploy solutions that maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of sensitive information and systems.
The engineer will plan, develop, implement, and update the company’s information security strategy for infrastructure and software development.
Responsibilities include developing, executing, and tracking the performance of security measures to protect information and network infrastructure and computer systems.
The engineer will identify, define, and document system security requirements and recommend solutions to management.
Duties also include configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining security infrastructure, software, and hardware, as well as installing software that monitors systems and networks for security breaches and intrusions.
The role requires monitoring systems for irregular behavior and setting up preventive measures.
Educating and training staff on information system security best practices for software development is also a key responsibility.
The engineer must ensure processes are followed and effective technical feasibility analysis is conducted when developing solutions.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in system security engineering, network security, or a related field is necessary.
Knowledge of security principles, best practices, and industry standards, such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Critical Security Controls, is essential.
Hands-on experience with security technologies, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, antivirus, and vulnerability scanning tools, is required.
Experience with risk assessment, penetration testing, and incident response methodologies is necessary.
A strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, such as TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing/switching, is needed.
Familiarity with security-related regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS, is important.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills are required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, with the ability to effectively communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
An analytical profile and advanced English proficiency (Level B2 or higher) are required.
