Description:

The Security Engineer will work directly with staff to design and implement information security solutions that support mission, science, and information security objectives.
The role involves collaborating with information security staff to implement defensive technologies and monitoring solutions.
Daily maintenance and problem resolution will be part of the responsibilities, serving as a resource for Service Desk ticket support.
The engineer will modify and update the security configuration for firewalls, IDS, Log Servers, and all related information and security devices.
The position requires working in a collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge and skills with other team members.
The engineer will also review, audit, and support all information security systems.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of progressive technical expertise in the Security domain.
Hands-on experience with firewall management (Check Point preferred but not required) is required.
Experience with Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and web application security (for example, OWASP top 10) is necessary.
Strong troubleshooting skills using various tools (command line, packet capturing, etc.) are essential.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or shell scripts is required.
Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of networking architectures.
Excellent customer service and communication skills are mandatory.
The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.

The position offers a salary range of $125,000 - $130,000 a year.
