Description:

Baseten is seeking an experienced and proactive Security Engineer to enhance the security posture of its ML infrastructure platform.
The role involves working cross-functionally with engineering and operations teams to uphold high standards of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
As one of the first dedicated security hires, the Security Engineer will have the opportunity to shape security strategy and best practices.
Responsibilities include collaborating on security architecture and design, leading vulnerability management, developing incident response processes, overseeing identity and access management, ensuring compliance with security standards, delivering employee security training, and integrating security into the DevSecOps pipeline.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in a Security Engineer or similar role, preferably in a fast-paced startup environment.
Strong knowledge of cloud security (AWS/GCP), container security, and infrastructure-as-code best practices is required.
Hands-on experience with security tooling (SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners) and scripting languages for automating security tasks is essential.
Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR, along with the ability to translate requirements into actionable security controls, is necessary.
Incident response expertise, including forensic analysis and root cause investigation, is required.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a security-first culture are essential.
