Description:
We are looking for a qualified and high-energy Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain security measures to protect our organization's data and systems.
You will partner with engineering teams to identify vulnerabilities, respond to security threats, monitor systems/networks for suspicious activity, and help with the development of security policies and procedures to mitigate cyber risks.
You will join a cross-functional team that acts as the primary defenders against cyberattacks by ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Houzz’s information systems.
Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining automation for security controls on cloud IaaS, performing security risk assessments for software vendors and applications, conducting penetration testing and vulnerability research, managing SIEM tuning and dashboards, threat modeling, providing security training and outreach to internal development teams, creating security guidance documentation, and participating in security incident response and on-call duties.
Requirements:
A BA/BS in Computer Science or IT/Cybersecurity related specialty is required.
Keen problem-solving skills are essential.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in infrastructure and/or application security is required, with experience in threat modeling, penetration testing, red team/blue team activities, secure design reviews, code reviews, DevSecOps, and automation/scripting.
Expertise in multiple security domains such as identity management and authentication, SIEM/SOAR, CSPM, cryptography, networking, VPN/Zero trust, and web protocols is necessary.
Ideally, knowledge of one or more mainstream programming languages (Python, PHP, Java, Nodejs, Shell) is preferred.
Experience with AWS products and services is a plus.
Security certifications such as SSCP, CISSP, PenTest+, Security+, and AWS Security certification are desirable.

The role has an annual starting salary range of $130,000 - $150,000.
