Description:
Veeva Systems is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to enhance the security operations team's incident response, automation, and vulnerability management processes.
The role involves streamlining incident response playbooks and requires extensive knowledge of AWS architecture.
The engineer will craft and tune SIEM rules to align with specific anomalous behaviors.
This position will be on-call in a team rotation.
Responsibilities include triaging alerts, analyzing behaviors, coordinating with stakeholders, and executing containment actions to mitigate threat activity to the network.
The engineer will develop playbooks to automate processes such as threat intel IOC ingestion and incident response scripts.
The role also involves refining vulnerability management, maintaining awareness of device reporting capabilities, and collaborating with stakeholders to identify security gaps.
Participation in security exercises and purple team events is expected to simulate risks to business operations.
The engineer will develop and maintain performance metrics related to incidents and vulnerabilities.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 4+ years of experience as a Security Engineer or in a similar role.
Significant experience in setting up and maintaining AWS infrastructure is required.
Proficiency in automation languages in the context of incident response is essential.
Strong experience in evaluating and assessing vulnerability severity levels based on various factors is necessary.
Candidates should possess strong communication skills for interaction with tactical personnel and senior leadership.
A strong understanding of methods to address vulnerabilities is required.
Experience in coordinating with teams to manage and prioritize vulnerability remediation is essential.
Extensive experience with vulnerability management-related tools is necessary.
Candidates must have skills in developing, tuning, and crafting specific behavioral alerts for cyber threats.
A background in the incident response life-cycle and decision-making processes is required.
Complex problem-solving skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential.
Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
