Remote Security Engineer (Application)

Description:

• Sword Health is seeking a Security Engineer to safeguard applications and cloud infrastructure.
• The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to ensure compliance with HIPAA and GDPR.
• Responsibilities include monitoring applications for security threats, responding to breaches, performing root cause analyses, and prioritizing remediation of vulnerabilities.
• The Security Engineer will collaborate with the development team to integrate security into the software development lifecycle and manage preventative security measures.
• The position requires staying updated on security threats and trends and providing guidance on risk mitigation.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
• Candidates must have 3+ years of hands-on experience in Application Security.
• A strong understanding of Application Security concepts, including secure coding practices and vulnerability management, is essential.
• Hands-on experience with Application Security tools such as Snyk, Burp Suite, and DefectDojo is necessary.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash is required.
• Experience with Application Security testing tools, including SAST, DAST, and penetration testing, is needed.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as NIST, CIS, and COBIT is important.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with problem-solving abilities, are essential.
• Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, is required.
