Description:

The Security Engineer will join OpenAI's engineers and researchers to build, operate, and secure transformational AI technologies.
This role will focus on all aspects of Detection & Response, including infrastructure and operations, while also contributing as a strong generalist to the Security team.
Responsibilities include driving projects in major security verticals such as AppSec, InfraSec, OffSec, and Detection and Response.
The engineer will innovate to solve novel security problems and collaborate on cutting-edge AI research to improve OpenAI’s security posture.
Key tasks involve innovating on Detection and Response infrastructure, building tools for managing detection rules, developing and tuning detection rules, and automating manual response processes.
The role also includes ensuring visibility and control of OpenAI’s endpoint fleet (macOS, Windows) and driving improvements across identity access and management (IAM), device management, productivity software, and public cloud environments like AWS and Microsoft Azure.

Requirements:

Candidates should have experience in Security or a Security-adjacent field.
Experience with Microsoft Azure and/or cloud infrastructure platforms is required.
Knowledge of modern adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures is necessary.
Proficiency with a scripting language such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar is essential.
The ability to empathize and collaborate with colleagues, independently manage and run projects, and prioritize efforts for risk reduction is important.
