Description:

  • Remo is a virtual dementia care provider focused on changing the care journey for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers.
  • The Security Engineer will help build secure-by-default systems, proactively detect and respond to threats, and guide cross-functional teams through best practices in secure development.
  • Responsibilities include monitoring infrastructure for threats, evolving security architecture across GCP, GKE, and AWS, and reviewing Terraform-based infrastructure changes against compliance benchmarks.
  • The role involves developing response playbooks, leading incident response efforts, and running internal red-team-style exercises to enhance defenses.
  • The engineer will correlate data across logs and metrics to detect anomalies, perform continuous penetration testing, and secure product-layer surfaces by implementing security controls.
  • Collaboration with engineering teams on secure coding standards and maintaining compliance documentation is also required.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of modern DevSecOps principles is essential.
  • Experience in securing applications in healthcare and familiarity with HIPAA compliance is required.
  • Candidates should have working knowledge of compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, SOC2, NIST, or ISO 27001.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Terraform, GCP, GKE, AWS, and cloud security controls is necessary.
  • Experience with SIEM platforms and runtime threat detection is required.
  • Familiarity with offensive security, red teaming, and continuous penetration testing is important.
  • A strong product-layer security mindset and proficiency in securing modern web applications are needed.
  • Candidates should have experience integrating and operationalizing security tools like SAST, IAST, SCA, and secrets scanning.
  • Proven ability to design and monitor CI/CD security pipelines and manage cloud auth systems is required.
  • Familiarity with Google Assured Workloads and availability to work nights and weekends during incidents is necessary.
