Description:

The Security Engineer II position is a remote role based in the United States, specifically hiring from California, Washington, New York, Texas, and Massachusetts.
The successful candidate will have prior experience in application security within the retail/ecommerce industry and will be a hands-on technologist.
Responsibilities include working independently and as part of a team, utilizing threat modeling methodologies, and collaborating with developers to implement security measures.
The role involves designing, deploying, and maintaining centralized security tools and controls to protect infrastructure and applications.
The candidate will help build and maintain runbooks, document policies, and develop security metrics to track progress toward security goals.
Conducting security reviews, enhancing access controls, and collaborating with IT and development teams to integrate security best practices are key responsibilities.
The role also includes educating employees on security awareness, mentoring junior team members, and participating in security detection and incident response activities.
Staying updated with industry trends and supporting compliance programs with relevant regulations is essential.

Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in security engineering or application security is required.
At least 2 years of experience with AWS is necessary.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript is required.
Familiarity with OWASP and NIST security standards and frameworks is essential.
Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD processes, and related tools like Jira, Jenkins, and GitHub is required.
The ability to establish and report metrics and KPIs to executive leadership is necessary.
