Remote Security Engineer II

Description:

• Workato is seeking an exceptional Enterprise Security Engineer to join their growing team in Hyderabad, India.
• The role involves working closely with the Business Systems and Security Teams to monitor and secure cloud-based business systems.
• Responsibilities include understanding and staying updated on Workato’s security measures, providing guidance on security best practices, administering internal business security applications, and authoring scripts and tools to streamline security operations.
• The engineer will monitor access and activity in business systems to proactively detect and prevent security incidents, evaluate new internal tools for system management, respond to security incidents, and maintain recordkeeping for audit purposes.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field is required.
• Candidates must have 4+ years of experience working in security engineering and operations teams.
• Experience with perimeter security technologies such as firewalls, IPS, proxies, and email gateways is necessary.
• Knowledge of endpoint security solutions including AV, Next Gen AV, EDR, and encryption is required.
• Preferred experience with AWS cloud security, including native security controls and marketplace security controls.
• Candidates should have a solid understanding of security concepts, policies, risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Proficiency in writing bash and python scripts for automating operations tasks is essential.
• Familiarity with IT operations best practices, SOC/SIEM/MDR, and security orchestration is preferred.
• Knowledge of ITIL concepts and familiarity with MacOS system administration is required.
• Experience with data warehousing systems, especially Snowflake, is a plus.
• Security certifications such as CSSLP, CISSP, GIAC, or GSE are advantageous.
• Candidates should possess strong organizational and time-management skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and excellent communication skills.
