Description:
The Security Engineer at Juniper Square will be responsible for improving security tools and processes, identifying threats, detecting incidents, and delivering effective response/remediation.
The role involves building and monitoring security tools, incident detection and response, threat hunting, remediation, and forensics.
The Security Engineer will develop, train, and monitor best security practices across application, infrastructure, and endpoint security, vulnerability management, system configuration, and monitoring.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent work experience is required.
Candidates should have 4+ years of IT security experience, with at least 2 years beyond an analyst role as a security engineer.
A security certification such as CISSP, CISM, or similar is necessary.
Strong understanding of security best practices, policies, and procedures is essential.
Expert knowledge and experience with SIEM, MDR, XDR, EDR are required.
Extensive experience in incident response and writing custom detections is a must.
Knowledge in SAAS security, endpoint protection, and malware analysis is necessary.
Practical application of bash and/or python scripting is required.
Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks, as well as AWS or GCP, is essential.
Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to be on-call are necessary.

The compensation for this position includes a base salary, equity, and a variety of benefits.
The U.S. base salary range is $150,000 - $225,000, and the Canada base salary range is $140,000 - $210,000.
