Description:

  • Rackspace Cyber Defence is seeking a Security Engineer specializing in Network Security to support strategic customers in India, working remotely.
  • The role involves designing, implementing, managing, operating, and continuously improving cloud-native security across customer environments such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Responsibilities include ensuring the customer's operational and production environment remains secure, assisting with customer onboarding, and advancing platform administration through a DevOps-centric approach.
  • The Security Engineer will handle critical platform incidents, act as a Level 3 escalation point for SecOps Analysts, and deliver training and thought leadership.
  • The position requires developing and documenting runbooks, playbooks, and knowledgebase articles to promote best practices.
  • Continuous improvement of managed security services through custom development, automation, and integration is expected, in collaboration with SecOps Engineering and other teams.
  • The role requires maintaining close working relationships with key stakeholders, including incident response and disaster recovery teams.
  • Flexibility in working hours is required.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in Security Engineering, preferably in large enterprise or managed security services environments with a focus on network security.
  • Experience with network security concepts such as firewalls, web application firewalls, IDS/IPS, NDR, and micro-segmentation in on-premise, cloud-native, and hybrid environments is essential.
  • Proficiency with network security tools like Palo Alto and/or Fortinet, including troubleshooting IPsec tunnel issues and managing firewall operations using Panorama, is required.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure VMs hosting Palo Alto firewalls and a solid understanding of Azure security practices is necessary.
  • Experience in additional security domains such as Microsoft Sentinel, GCP Security Command Centre, AWS Security Hub, and various endpoint security tools is preferred.
  • Knowledge of security controls, security standards (NIST, ISO27001, CIS, OWASP), and scripting languages (Terraform, Python, JavaScript, etc.) is required.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as CI/CD, Azure DevOps, and Ansible is beneficial.
  • A degree in computer science, engineering, or information technology is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Candidates should hold relevant certifications such as CISSP, Azure Security Engineer Associate, or equivalent.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences are required.
