Description:
We are looking for an experienced Security Solutions Engineer to join our team in support of our Managed Detection & Response (MDR) practice.
As a Security Solutions Engineer, you will be a critical contributor to the design, development, and implementation of security-focused solutions in cloud-native, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
This mid-level role requires a solid understanding of AWS serverless technologies, event-driven architectures, and cybersecurity best practices.
You will work cross-functionally within a small but highly skilled team.
This role spans across the software development lifecycle to deliver secure and compliant solutions.
This is a full-time remote position.
Responsibilities include architecting and implementing secure, event-driven solutions leveraging AWS serverless technologies such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS, and EventBridge.
You will develop and integrate automation that collects, processes, remediates, and lifecycles security alerts from a variety of security tools and applications.
You will apply security best practices in the design of cloud solutions, including encryption, IAM policies, and secure data flows.
You will implement and monitor compliance with appropriate industry regulations such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, or GDPR.
You will use cloud-native IaC services to deploy cloud resources and normalize alert data to standardized data models.
You will contribute to the knowledgebase and documentation of workflows, architectures, and systems.
You will provide guidance to junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements:
Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for this role.
You must have the ability to write clean and maintainable code.
A minimum of 3 years of experience with Python or similar languages is required.
Proven experience designing and implementing serverless applications in AWS, including hands-on use of Lambda, API Gateway, and EventBridge is necessary.
A strong understanding of secure event-driven architectures and cloud security principles is required.
You should possess strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on secure and scalable solutions.
Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is also required.
Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of experience with AWS or Azure infrastructure and 1+ year of experience with Azure DevOps or similar platforms.
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Splunk, or Datadog is preferred.
