Description:
Envision Technology Partners is seeking a Senior Accessibility Software Engineer for their immunization information system software products.
This position is a contract-to-hire role, with the potential for a permanent position offering a competitive salary and benefits package.
The ideal candidate will have experience in software engineering, particularly in understanding 508 compliance and updating software for accessibility.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and unit testing updates to existing application functionality and new features within Envision’s product suite.
The role involves completing user interface tasks primarily using C#, JavaScript, and the .NET framework, as well as database tasks using T-SQL and SQL Server 2019+.
The engineer will ensure all web applications meet Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards and conduct accessibility testing using tools like AXE, JAWS, and WAVE.
Additional tasks include optimizing web applications for performance, scalability, and security, generating technical documentation, and providing architectural guidance for web technologies.
The position requires collaboration with customers and team members on technical design tasks and support for system, integration, and end-user testing.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with 0-3 years of experience, or 3-6 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
At least 1 year of native Azure cloud development experience is required.
A minimum of 5 years of web application development experience is necessary.
Candidates must have 4+ years of experience with C# and the .NET 4.x and above Framework, .NET core, MVC, and WebForms.
3+ years of experience with JavaScript and related technologies, as well as client-side technologies like HTML5 and CSS, are required.
2+ years of development experience using T-SQL and/or EF, and 2+ years with Microsoft SQL Server 2019 or later are necessary.
Candidates should have 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Visual Studio or VSCode.
Hands-on experience with 508 compliance, WCAG 2.1 guidelines, and ARIA roles is essential.
Familiarity with accessibility testing tools such as AXE, WAVE, JAWS, and NVDA is required.
Experience in the full life cycle process of web application development, including technical requirements gathering, documentation, and testing is necessary.
A solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and Design concepts is required.
Candidates should be self-starters willing to work in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
